The Hindu Trinity consists of the gods, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, representatives of the creative, preservative and destructive principles. Brahma is the creator. He is the manifestation of the Supreme Spirit as the active creator of the universe. Brahma being the creative principle, represents the qualities from which all creativity emanates. He is the universal intellect, the thought process from which the universe arises. |
| Brahma is not generally worshipped. It is believed the since the task of creation has been accomplished and Brahma's work is over, He has become one with the cosmic principle. Vishnu, the Preserver and Shiva, the Destroyer occupy a more prominent place in Hindu worship. Yet Brahma's name appears in all rituals and He is not forgotten by the Hindu worshippers.
